Eclectic Metalsmith Jewelry
The Eclectic Metalsmith makes a variety of copper jewelry. Current items include cuff braclets and rings, etched pendants and earrings and also hammered pendants and earrings.

Jewelry with a clear finish
Some jewelry has a clear finish. This clear finish prevents the normal oxidation and darkening of copper (see the Beauty of Copper page for more information on copper). As the finish prevents copper contact with the skin, these bracelets can be worn by anyone without the worry of oxidation of the copper rubbing off on the skin or turning the skin green.

Jewelry with a wax finish
Wax is applied to some jewelry to significantly slow down copper's normal oxidation process. The wax also provides a unique softly polished finishe. Over time, the wax finish wears off to be replaces with natural skin oils that provide the softly polished finish. At this point, the skin is in direct contact with the copper and the customer benefits from all the health benefits of this beautiful metal.

Jewelry with no finish

Other items have no finish. With these, over time the copper will darken to rich brown patina. For jewelry with an added patina, as the raised part of the design develops its patina, the contrast with the applied patina will become more subtle. As the skin is in direct contact with the metal, all of copper's health benefits are available to the wearer.

With no care, copper will develop it's natural warm, brown patina. As the patina develops, the contrast with any applied patina becomes more subtle.

At any time, by following the instructions on the "Care of Copper" page, customers can polish for a bright and shiny look. For fashion variety, customers can polish for the bright shiny look and then let the jewelry continue to develop its patina again.
